Performance Standards

Orientation Inspection

Standard: Man made stone must be properly installed with no damage.

Coverage: During the Final Walkthrough/Orientation, Classic will confirm that the man made stone is properly installed and that there is no damage. Only the damage listed on the Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form will be repaired.

Cracks

Standard: Masonry cracks should not exceed 3/16 inch in width.

Coverage: As a courtesy, during the Limited Warranty Period, Classic will repair (one time) masonry cracks that exceed 3/16 inch in width.

What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Efflorescence - The white, powdery substance that sometimes accumulates on stone surfaces is cosmetic and is not a defect in the stone; it is a natural occurrence and is excluded from this Limited Warranty
  • Damage not listed on the Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form - Only the damage listed on the form will be repaired
  • Tuck-pointing - After several years the stone may require tuck-pointing (repairing the mortar between the stone); this is homeowner maintenance
  • Additional crack repairs - The repair of masonry cracks exceeding 3/16 inch in width is a one-time courtesy

Filing a Claim

If you believe you have a warranty issue:

  1. Check whether the damage was listed on your Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form
  2. For cracks, measure the width — the one-time courtesy repair applies to masonry cracks that exceed 3/16 inch in width
  3. Request Service
