Performance Standards
Orientation Inspection
Standard: Painted and stained surfaces must be free of defects at the Final Walkthrough/Orientation.
Coverage: During the Final Walkthrough/Orientation Classic will confirm that there are no defects in the painted and stained surfaces. Classic will only touch up paint items that were listed on the Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form. You are responsible for all subsequent touch-up of exterior and interior paint.
Cracking
Standard: As it ages, exterior wood trim will develop minor cracks and raised grain. Much of this will occur during the first year.
Coverage: Raised grain permits moisture to get under the paint and can result in peeling. This is not a defect in materials or workmanship. Paint maintenance of wood trim and gutters is the Homeowner's responsibility and is excluded from this Limited Warranty.
Paint Touch-Ups Will Be Visible
Standard: Paint touch-up is visible under certain lighting conditions.
Coverage: Visible paint touch-up is excluded from this Limited Warranty.
Wood Grain
Standard: Because of wood characteristics, color variations will result when stain is applied to wood.
Coverage: This is natural and requires no repair. Today's water-base paints often make wood grain visible on painted trim. Variations in colors due to wood grain are excluded from this Limited Warranty.
What's Not Covered
The following are excluded from warranty coverage:
- Subsequent touch-up - You are responsible for all touch-up of exterior and interior paint after the Final Walkthrough/Orientation
- Fading of exterior finishes - Paint, varnish, lacquer, or sealed stain on exterior surfaces will deteriorate rapidly and are excluded from this Limited Warranty
- Paint maintenance of wood trim and gutters - Homeowner responsibility
- Visible touch-up - Touch-up visible under certain lighting conditions is excluded
- Wood grain color variations - Natural wood characteristics are excluded
- Severe weather damage - Promptly report damage caused by severe weather to your homeowners insurance

- Note the affected surfaces and locations
