Performance Standards​

Orientation Inspection​

Standard: Tile and grout areas should be installed with no defects at the Final Walkthrough/Orientation.

Coverage: During the Final Walkthrough/Orientation, Classic will confirm that the tile and grout areas are installed with no defects. Classic will only repair or replace cracked, badly chipped, or loose tiles listed on the Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form.

Grout Color​

Standard: New grout may vary in color from the original.

Coverage: Classic is not responsible for variations in color or discontinued patterns.

What's Not Covered​

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Color variations and discontinued patterns - Classic is not responsible for variations in color or discontinued patterns; new grout may vary in color from the original
  • Grout cracks - Cracks appearing in grouting of ceramic tiles at joints or junctions with other materials are common and can be due to expansion or shrinkage in the building components
  • Tile, grout, and caulk maintenance after closing - The homeowner is responsible for maintaining and repairing any tile, grout, or caulk after closing on the home
  • Tiles not listed on the Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form

Filing a Claim​

If you believe you have a warranty issue:

  1. Check whether the cracked, badly chipped, or loose tiles were listed on your Final Walkthrough/Orientation Form
  2. For grout cracks after closing, fill them with premixed grout as routine maintenance
  3. Request Service
