Siding Standards

Performance Standards

Separation

Standard: Siding expands and contracts in response to changes in humidity and temperature; some separation at joints will occur.

Coverage: During the Limited Warranty Period Classic will correct separation at joints or where siding meets another material if the separation exceeds 3/8".

Loose or Delaminated Siding

Standard: Siding should remain attached and intact.

Coverage: During the Limited Warranty Period Classic will repair siding that comes loose or delaminates.

Caulking

Standard: Caulk will shrink over time.

Coverage: Classic will not recaulk areas where the caulk has shrunk; this is the Homeowner's responsibility. See Caulking.

What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Recaulking where caulk has shrunk - Maintaining caulking is the Homeowner's responsibility
  • Separation of 3/8" or less - Only separation exceeding 3/8" at joints or where siding meets another material is corrected

Filing a Claim

If you believe you have a warranty issue:

  1. Measure the separation at joints or where siding meets another material (must exceed 3/8")
  2. Note any siding that has come loose or delaminated
  3. Request Service
