New Home Warranty Program
While our goal at Classic is to always construct and deliver a quality new home, we are realistic enough to know that since the home contains thousands of products installed by numerous trade partners, there will be deficiencies that will require correction.
As a purchaser of a new Classic home, Classic commits to expeditiously and professionally correct construction defects in accordance with the terms and conditions of The Classic Homes Limited Warranty.
In support of our commitment to stand behind the homes we build, The Classic Homeowner Guide details Classic's Limited Warranty.
The Four Sections of the Limited Warranty
Since the Limited Warranty is a very important document that you will reference frequently, Classic's Limited Warranty is divided into the following four sections:
- Classic Homes Warranty Introduction – this section provides an overview of The Limited Warranty for your new home, including your maintenance obligations.
- Classic Homes Warranty Service Procedures – this section explains the warranty appointments that are available and how to submit a request for warranty appointments.
- Classic Homes Limited Warranty – this section details the terms and conditions of the warranty coverage on your new home.
- Classic Homes Standards of Performance – this section contains the Standards of Performance. These standards determine if an item is covered under The Limited Warranty.
Eight Years of Coverage
Classic Homes Limited Warranty covers your Classic home against construction defects as detailed in Classic Homes Standards of Performance for EIGHT (8) YEARS from the date title was first transferred by Classic (the "Warranty Commencement Date").
The Customer Care Program (First Year)
The Warranty Period consists of a Customer Care Program. The Customer Care Program covers the first year of ownership. Under the Customer Care Program, Classic provides two (2) automatically scheduled Customer Care Appointments as well as several courtesy repairs. The warranty items covered (including courtesy repairs) during The Customer Care Program are detailed in The Standards of Performance.
See Customer Care Program for details on the two appointments and Courtesy Repairs for the one-time repairs offered during your first year.
After the First Year (Years 2–8)
Following the first year of ownership, Classic, upon review and under the terms of the Limited Warranty, will repair construction defects that are in compliance with the Limited Warranty.
Transferability
The Classic Homes Limited Warranty is fully transferable to subsequent purchasers. Upon execution of a transfer form by a subsequent owner, the Limited Warranty remains in force on the home for the balance of the Warranty Period. Please contact the Classic Homes Customer Care Department for a Warranty Transfer Form.
Your Acknowledgment
When you wrote your Purchase Agreement, you received The Classic Homeowner Guide containing the Limited Warranty, and signed a form acknowledging your receipt and agreement to read the Limited Warranty in full prior to closing on your home. If you have any questions about The Limited Warranty before closing, please contact your Sales Counselor.
We suggest that you review The Standards of Performance, as well as the service procedures, before submitting a claim under the Limited Warranty.
Homeowner Maintenance
The Homeowner(s) and/or The Homeowners Association (exterior items in certain communities) are responsible for proper home maintenance. This includes being aware of and applying the recommended procedures and products for maintaining all components of your home. For your convenience, Classic has provided maintenance suggestions in our Standards of Performance. If you need additional information on maintaining a product, please refer to the manufacturer maintenance recommendations for that product.
Under the terms of the Limited Warranty, neglect of normal maintenance items may deprive you or your successor of warranty coverage on the item(s) involved. Damage to the home which is a result of Homeowner(s) or Homeowners Association negligence, abuse, misuse, or inaction must be repaired by the Homeowner(s) and/or Homeowners Association at their expense. During the Limited Warranty Period, Classic will not repair items that are the responsibility of the Homeowner or Homeowners Association to maintain. Please review The Standards of Performance before submitting a request for service.
