Performance Standards

Flooring Components

Standard: Since the flooring components of your home are constructed with a combination of natural and man-made products, floor and stair squeaks are unavoidable.

Coverage: During the Limited Warranty Period Classic will repair floor and stair squeaks as well as stair vibration that results from improper installation.

Floor Deflection

Standard: Floors will deflect (bend) when walked on. This will be more noticeable next to hutches, bookcases, pianos, chairs, and other heavy furniture.

Coverage: This is not a structural deficiency and is excluded from this Limited Warranty.

Floor Level

Standard: Floors will be level to within 1/4 inch within any 32-inch distance as measured perpendicular to any ridge or indentation.

Coverage: During the Limited Warranty Period Classic will repair floor(s) that exceeds this standard.

Plumb Walls

Standard: Walls should not be out of plumb more than 1/2 inch in an 8-foot distance or bowed more than 1/4 inch in any 32-inch measurement.

Coverage: During the Limited Warranty Period Classic will correct walls that exceed these standards.

Window Openings

Standard: Due to the natural wood used in the construction of a home, there will be slight variations (out of plumb) in window openings.

Coverage: Variations in window openings are excluded from this Limited Warranty.

What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Floor deflection - Floors bending when walked on, more noticeable next to heavy furniture, is not a structural deficiency
  • Variations in window openings - Slight out-of-plumb variations due to the natural wood used in construction
