Safety Notice

Garage door springs are under extreme tension. Never attempt to adjust or repair springs yourself - this is dangerous and should only be done by professionals.

Performance Standards

Door Operation

Standard: Garage doors should operate properly without binding or scraping when due to installation.

Coverage Period: 1 year for adjustments due to installation defects

Sensor Function

Standard: Safety sensors should function properly to stop and reverse the door when an obstruction is detected.

Coverage Period: 1 year for adjustments due to installation defects

Garage Door Openers

Standard: Garage door openers installed by Classic Homes are consumer products covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Note: Classic Homes will not repair damages associated with a door opener that was not installed by Classic Homes during construction.

What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Garage door openers - Consumer products excluded from Limited Warranty; refer to manufacturer warranty
  • Third-party opener installation - Damage from openers not installed by Classic Homes during construction
  • Light visible around door - Garage doors cannot be airtight; some light around edges is normal
  • Weather entry - Some precipitation entering around the door in weather conditions is normal
  • Dust infiltration - Normal, especially until most homes in the community have landscaping
  • Door sag - The garage door may sag slightly due to its weight and span

Filing a Claim

If you believe you have a warranty issue:

  1. Review the Use & Care Guide for troubleshooting steps
  2. Gather information:
    • Description of the malfunction
    • Whether the door is manually lockable and unlocked
    • Whether sensors are aligned (check indicator lights)
  3. Request Service
