Wait 2 weeks before using cleaning or finishing agents on new flooring to allow the adhesive to thoroughly set.
Performance Standards
Orientation Inspection
Standard: Floor coverings should be free of defects at the time of the New Home Presentation or Welcome Home Orientation.
Coverage: Classic Homes will only repair flooring items that are listed on the New Home Presentation or Welcome Home Orientation Form.
Adhesion
Standard: Linoleum floor covering should adhere properly to the subfloor.
Coverage Period: 1 year
Measurement: Classic Homes will repair lifting, bubbling, and/or nail pops that appear on the surface of the flooring during the first year.
Ridges
Standard: Ridging is measured by centering a 6-inch straight edge perpendicular to the ridge with one end tight to the floor.
Threshold: If the opposite end of the straight edge is 1/8 inch or more from the floor, Classic Homes will repair this condition during the first year.
Seams and Separations
Standard: Some seams and separations in resilient flooring will occur due to shrinkage.
Thresholds:
- Floor to floor: Gaps in excess of 1/16 inch where resilient flooring pieces meet
- Floor to other material: Gaps in excess of 1/8 inch where resilient flooring meets another material
Coverage Period: 1 year for gaps exceeding these thresholds
What's Not Covered
The following are excluded from warranty coverage:
- Seams gapping or curling from water - Excessive water from cleaning or leakage that causes seam damage
- Damage from moving furniture - Tears, wrinkles, or damage caused by moving furniture or appliances
- Minor separations - Slight separations due to natural shrinkage that don't exceed thresholds
- Damage from improper cleaning - Including excessive water or unapproved cleaning products
- Wear and tear - Normal wear from foot traffic and everyday use
