Performance Standards

Siding Joints

Standard: Siding joints and transitions to other materials should not exceed 3/8" separation.

Coverage: During the first year, Classic Homes will correct separation at joints or where siding meets another material if the separation exceeds 3/8".

Caulking: Classic Homes will not re-caulk areas where the caulk has shrunk; this is homeowner responsibility.

Siding Attachment

Standard: Siding should remain securely attached to the structure.

Coverage: During the limited warranty period, Classic Homes will repair siding that comes loose.

Stucco Cracks

Standard: Stucco cracks should not exceed 1/8" in width.

Reality: Since stucco is a cementitious product, it will crack.

Coverage: During the first year, Classic Homes will repair any cracks that exceed 1/8".

Important: When a repair is performed, there will be discoloration between the repaired area and the original stucco. Classic Homes will not re-stucco entire walls or homes because of discoloration from stucco repairs.

Color Variations

Standard: Since stucco is a natural product, there will be color variations in the finished product.

Exclusion: Color variations are normal and are excluded from the Limited Warranty.

What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Caulk shrinkage - Re-caulking is homeowner responsibility (see Caulking)
  • Stucco color variations - Natural product variation is expected
  • Stucco repair discoloration - Original color cannot be matched exactly
  • Wall cap damage - Damage caused to wall caps from placement of post-construction items (planters, decorative objects)
  • Siding expansion/contraction effects - Slight waves and seasonal gaps are normal
  • Wood siding maintenance - Refinishing is homeowner responsibility
  • Cement siding repainting - Periodic maintenance is homeowner responsibility
