Performance Standards
Orientation Inspection
Standard: All cabinets and cabinet components must be installed properly with no defects or cosmetic damage.
Coverage: Classic Homes will repair only those defects or cosmetic items listed on the New Home Presentation or Welcome Home Orientation form.
Alignment
Standard: Doors, drawer fronts, and handles should be level and even.
Coverage: Classic Homes will repair any items that are visibly out of level or do not function properly for the first year of the limited warranty period.
Separations
Standard: Gaps between cabinets and the ceiling or walls should not exceed 1/8 inch.
Coverage: During the first year, Classic Homes will correct or repair gaps exceeding 1/8 inch by caulking or other means. After the first year, caulking these areas is the homeowner's responsibility.
Warping
Standard: Doors or drawer fronts should not warp in excess of 1/4 inch within 24 inches.
Coverage: If warping exceeds this standard during the first year, Classic Homes will correct by adjustment or replacement.
Wood Grain
Standard: Readily noticeable variations in wood grain and color are normal in all wood or wood veneer.
Coverage: Replacements or repairs are not made due to variations in the wood or wood veneer.
What's Not Covered
The following are excluded from warranty coverage:
- Surface scratches after closing - Damage occurring after move-in is homeowner responsibility
- Wood grain and color variations - Natural characteristics of wood and how it takes stain
- Gaps after the first year - Caulking becomes homeowner maintenance
- Damage from heat or moisture - Operating appliances that generate heat/steam near cabinets
