Emergency Conditions

Total loss of power (after confirming no area outage) qualifies as an emergency. Call 719-592-9333 immediately.

Performance Standards

Internal Wiring

Standard: Internal wiring should carry the electrical load for which it was designed.

Coverage Period: 2 years

Measurement: If wiring fails to carry the designed load, Classic Homes will repair the affected wiring.

Breakers, Fixtures, and Outlets

Standard: All electrical breakers, fixtures, and outlets should function properly at closing and throughout the first year.

Coverage Period: 1 year (consumer products)

At Orientation: Classic Homes confirms that:

  • Light fixtures and outlets are installed and working
  • All bulbs are operable
  • No defects in electrical components

Alarm System Wiring

Standard: Alarm system pre-wire should function properly if the original wiring has not been modified.

Coverage Period: 2 years

What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Power surge damage - Damage from lightning or utility power surges is excluded (we cannot control weather or utility conditions)
  • Homeowner-installed fixtures - Fixtures installed after closing are not covered
  • Fixture/outlet relocation - Moving fixtures or outlets is not covered unless documented before closing
  • Trip fees for non-wiring issues - If the problem isn't an internal wiring issue, trip fees may apply
  • Burned out bulbs - Light bulb replacement is your responsibility (only replaced if listed on orientation form)
  • Modified alarm wiring - Alarm system wiring that has been altered during installation by a third party

Filing a Claim

If you believe you have a warranty issue:

  1. Review the Use & Care Guide for troubleshooting steps
  2. Gather information:
    • Specific outlets or circuits affected
    • Whether breakers are tripping
    • Whether GFCI outlets have been tested/reset
  3. Request Service
